Sue Johnston: Your Presenter
She’s a professional coach and trainer who works with managers and teams to improve their communication and working relationships. Through her Speaker Circles Program, she also works with individuals to improve their skills and confidence in speaking in public. She is happiest in helping people find their voices and and tell their stories. She helps you talk so people listen, listen so people talk, and change the world, one conversation at a time. Following a career as a journalist, Sue worked in employee communication, corporate training and IT in the Canadian banking industry. Contray toi expectations, this was lots of fun. While completing an MBA, she shifted her focus from corporate to interpersonal communication, which she considers our most powerful business tool. She established It’s Understood Communication, Inc. To help others use that tool well. The author of“Talk To Me: Workplace Conversations that Work:"

SOCIAL MEDIA
Carol Bremner
Is an Online Success Turning the Technical Into the Understandable Online Marketing Specialist/Internet Trainer Carol will be the first to tell you she is technology challenged. As a new driver, she had no idea that a car needed oil as well as gasoline. In that case, if she had known a bit about what was under the hood, that car might have lasted a lot longer. But you don’t need to know the inner workings of the Internet to use social media, no matter how intimidating it may feel. In this interactive presentation, Carol will cover the features and best practices you need to know about Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn and leave out the non-essentials that you don’t need to learn. So whether you have no idea what you should be doing, or can’t find the time to build those relationships that are so important, you’ll come away with some action steps to put into practice right away. Carol Bremner is a Social Media and Online Marketing Specialist. She was in her mid 40’s when she first encountered computers in the workplace and found those machines so intimidating that she transferred to the campus daycare for a year. Carol eventually went back to her old job, started taking computer courses and has been hooked on them ever since. As an Internet trainer and consultant, Carol has worked with groups and individuals since 2001, when she left her position as a library technician. A non-techie herself, she uses Internet tools, but doesn’t have any idea about how they all work. Her goal is to teach technical concepts in a non-technical way. More about Carol and her services can be found on her website at www.carolbremner.com |
